The journey of a project
How does work
Our mission is to create spaces and products that people love – as simple
as that.
And we love what we do!

We want to create work -
that inspires us
that reflects our values and passions as designers
that stands out and stands for something
that inspires our community

So ,we try to shape spaces full of character using materials full of personality .
We fill the spaces with carefully curated artworks and artefacts, always
distinctive and often playful, rich with memories and stories. Places that demand
not only to be admired, but to be engaged with ,enjoyed
Research, experiments and playfulness are essential components of our practice and
vital for the development from conception to the final product. And, whether we’re designing a home or an artisan-crafted coffee table, we take extraordinary care over every last corner – because exceptional craft never, ever goes out of style.
We are small and flexible, yet experienced — and we work closely with our clients throughout the design process. We can support you through a specific part of your design journey, such as sourcing the perfect bookcase – or we can guide you the whole way, from dreaming a new home to walking through its doors.

We love to collaborate with ambitious people and brands . Lets build!
The people that make
Piyusha Upadhyay
Design principal , Director
Equal parts eccentric and realist, at That , Piyusha oversees the vision of the studio and also is the brain behind all That works on.
After graduating as an architect from SSAA , she worked for a reputed architecture firm and learnt the ins and outs of architecture , interiors and the business of design .
For 6 years she has lead , ideated and executed over 60 projects of various typologies and scales . She then branched out to start That design studio as a manifestation of all her design dreams .
Be it spaces , products or novels , she loves things with great stories. And so , she integrates storytelling throughout her body of work . While very diverse, her aesthetic approach often merges minimalism with a distinct sense of play.
Shikhar Gaur
Head Graphic Designer
After graduating as an Architect and working as one for 2 years, Shikhar realized that his doodling was better suited in the world
of Graphic Design. His work includes designing visual identity, packaging, websites, space graphics, illustrations, publications,
social media and/or anything that comes his way. He works with brands ranging from corporates to FMCG, international to
national and start-ups to a 90 year old company.
Always aspiring to do everything differently & meticulously,
Shikhar is our go-to guy for all our graphic design needs and has also
created our logo & branding.

He also likes to talk about plants, food and big existential
questions.
Pia Taneja

A minimalist at heart but an avid collector in reality, Pia brings her unique brand of aesthetics to That. She graduated as an interior architect from Pratt institute in New York. She also spent six months in Copenhagen studying urban planning. Over the years she has gained experience in designing events, pop ups and temporary spaces.

She is now a dedicated entrepreneur launching her own jewellery brand ,often deriving inspiration from her design background.
She is always on the lookout for the next big it thing and
can talk to you for hours about fashion, sports or reality tv.
